Transfer (Conveyance) of Real Estate
The Auditor's Real Estate Department transfers property in-person and electronically Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Legal Advise:
Under Ohio Revised Code ยง 4705.01, employees of the Lorain County Auditor's Office cannot complete Conveyance or Exempt Forms for you or give legal advice about how to fill them out. Auditor's Office employees also cannot prepare legal documents, including deeds, or provide advice about those documents.
If you need help completing forms or have legal questions, please contact a local title company or an attorney. They can help prepare your documents and answer any legal questions you may have.
Mailing Documents:
Effective November 1, 2012, the Lorain County Auditor's Office no longer accepts real estate transfers, property conveyances, or manufactured home transfers submitted through the U.S. Postal Service. Real estate transfers and property conveyances must be submitted in person or through an approved electronic filing method. Electronic Filing (E-Filing):
Lorain County accepts conveyances via electronic filing (e-file). Documents submitted by e-file must follow the same rules as paper documents, and a subject to the same review. Click the link below to view the list of accepted e-file vendors.
